Collection: Acan

Acan corals are a reef tank keeper’s dream—vibrant, hardy, and full of personality. Their swirling patterns and bold shades of red, orange, green, and blue make them a standout in any saltwater aquarium. Unlike some corals that demand precise care, Acans are adaptable and thrive with minimal fuss, making them perfect for reef tanks of all experience levels.

Why Buy Acan Corals & How to Care for Them

Acan corals are a favorite for a reason:

  • Incredible Colors: From deep reds and oranges to greens and blues, these corals pack a visual punch.
  • Easy to Keep: They don’t need a ton of light or flow, making them beginner-friendly.
  • Fast Growers: With the right conditions, they spread quickly, filling out your reef beautifully.
  • Fun to Feed: Acans love a good meal and will eagerly take target feedings of meaty foods like mysis shrimp.

Keeping Acans happy is pretty simple:

  • Lighting: Moderate to low – they do well in shaded areas.
  • Flow: Low to moderate – too much can stress them out.
  • Feeding: Target feed 2-3 times a week with meaty foods for the best growth and color.
  • Water Conditions: Keep things stable – temps around 77-78°F, alkalinity at 7-8 dKh, calcium 400-450 ppm, and magnesium 1200-1400 ppm.

Acan Coral Varieties & Placement

We carry a variety of Acan corals, including:

  • Acan Lordhowensis: Large polyps, intense colors, and an easy-going nature make this a top pick.
  • Ultra Acan Frags: Vibrant, smaller pieces perfect for growing your own colony.

Acans are pretty chill, but they do have sweeper tentacles and will sting if they get too close to other corals. Give them about 6 inches of space to avoid conflicts. They do best on the sandbed or lower rockwork where they can settle in comfortably.

If you’re looking for a hardy, colorful coral that doesn’t demand a lot of upkeep, Acans are a solid pick. Check out our collection and find the perfect addition to your reef aquarium tank!
